Perdue Foundation commits $9,000 to fund life-saving equipment for Putnam County Rescue Squad in Tennessee

September 25, 2017

SALISBURY, MD. (Monday, Sept. 25, 2017) — Perdue Farms, through a $9,000 grant funded by The Franklin P. and Arthur W. Perdue Foundation, is helping the Putnam County Rescue Squad in Monterey, Tenn., purchase new life-saving equipment. The Foundation is the charitable giving arm of Perdue Farms.

“We’re thrilled to have the continued support of Perdue through this generous donation,” said Stanley VanHooser, chief of the Putnam County Rescue Squad. “This enables us to purchase a battery powered device used to extract victims in motor vehicle accidents. Not only does this partnership benefit residents of Putnam County, including Perdue associates and their families, but it provides us with the resources to aid motorists traveling Interstate 40 through our county who may need our services.”

As Jeff Beckman, director of operations at Perdue’s facility in Monterey, explains, “At Perdue, we have a history of supporting the volunteers of the Putnam County Rescue Squad who risk their lives to come to the rescue of others. We are pleased to provide them with this extraction equipment to assure they can do all they can when someone is in need.”
