Salisbury, Md. (Thursday, August 13, 2015) — Associates at Perdue Farms’ operation in Cromwell, Ky., recently donated $3,425.54 to the Ohio County Relay for Life in support of the American Cancer Society’s fight against cancer. Since 2013, Perdue associates have raised more than $17,000 toward the cause.
“We’re delighted to have the continued support of Perdue and their associates again this year,” said Jody Flener, Relay for Life team ambassador. “This donation helps provide more services to residents fighting and surviving cancer in Ohio County.”
Associates generated the funds through a combination of bake sales, the sale of T-shirts that were designed by associates, and other food sales.
“We’re proud of our partnership with the American Cancer Society here in Ohio County and our associates’ compassion to help others,” said Jim Booth, director of Perdue operations in Cromwell. “It’s hard to find anyone who hasn’t been touched by cancer in one way or another. That’s why those of us at Perdue are pleased that our donation will help support cancer research, education and prevention efforts of the American Cancer Society right here in Ohio County.”
