Perdue Farms’ Cromwell associates deliver $11,279 to United Way of the Ohio Valley

Salisbury, Md. (Monday, April 3, 2017) — Associates from Perdue Farms’ operation in Cromwell, Ky., recently presented a check for $11,279.25 to the United Way of the Ohio Valley. The contribution included $9,759.25 in associate contributions and a $1,520 grant provided by the Franklin P. and Arthur W. Perdue Foundation, the charitable giving arm of Perdue Farms. Perdue employs 1,237 associates in Cromwell.

“At Perdue, we are committed to supporting the United Way because it’s an organization that shares in our commitment to making a meaningful and positive impact in our community,” said Mark Knight, Perdue director of operations. “I’m very proud of the generosity and compassion of our associates. Their contributions, combined with the support of the Perdue Foundation, will go a long way to help thousands of our neighbors.”

The Perdue campaign allowed associates to use a simple payroll deduction process to individually support United Way and its partner agencies.

United Way is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to maximize the communities’ resources improving the lives of all the members of the community. Through the combination of generous individual and business contributions, the United Way of the Ohio Valley is able to support such agencies as the Salvation Army, Boulware Mission, Boy Scouts of America, Ohio County Food Pantry, and more.
