Salisbury, Md. (Monday, December 14, 2015) — Associates at Perdue Farms’ Rockingham operation contributed $53,108 to the United Way of Richmond County. The campaign also includes a $4,829.00 grant funded by the Arthur W. Perdue Foundation, the charitable giving arm of Perdue Farms.
United Way is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to maximize the communities resources to improve the lives of all the members of the community. Through the combination of generous individual and business contributions, the United Way of Richmond County is able to support such agencies as American Red Cross, Back Pack Pals, Sandhills Children’s Center and others.
The Perdue campaign allowed associates to use a simple payroll deduction process to individually contribute to the United Way.
“We are happy to continue our support for the United Way of Richmond County,” said Lesley King, Perdue human resources manager. “At Perdue, where teamwork is so important to our success, we recognize the importance of neighbors helping neighbors.”
Michelle Parrish, executive director of United Way of Richmond County, stated, “Perdue is one of our larger workplace campaigns in Richmond County. We’re very appreciative and grateful to the Perdue team for participating with our campaign. The investment that the Perdue associates make to our local United Way insures that our 16 partnering agencies and their programs continue to serve and touch those who are in need of assistance.”
