Perdue Foundation’s $10,000 grant helps with operational costs

January 26, 2022

SALISBURY, Md. (Wednesday, January 26, 2022) — As part of a commitment to improve quality of life in our communities, Perdue Farms has renewed its support for Recovery Resource Center’s addiction community center with a $10,000 grant funded through the Franklin P. and Arthur W. Perdue Foundation. The donation from Perdue’s charitable giving arm is part of the company’s Delivering Hope to Our Neighbors®” initiative focused on improving quality of life and building strong communities.

“These funds will be used to help cover the operational expenses related to operating our community center for individuals battling addiction,” said Curtis Paul, Recovery Resource Center executive director. “Addiction is an ongoing issue in our community and the service we provide to those in active addiction and recovery is invaluable.”

Recovery Resource Center is a life-saving nonprofit dedicated to the recovery of those struggling with addiction. Funds are used for payroll to continue 24/7 operations, rent, insurance, cleaning and office supplies, educational programming, and social events. Recovery services are free and open to all.

“We offer a safe, secure and welcoming environment for individuals seeking recovery through 12-step fellowships and/or participation in the recovery community, and those seeking emergency help and/or education,” Paul said. “We also host celebrations of clean-time anniversaries for guests as they hit milestones and make significant life achievements.”

Recovery Resource Center hosts 40 12-step meetings weekly, including Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Gamblers Anonymous, Al-Anon, Celebrate Recovery, Adult Children of Alcoholics, and Sexaholics Anonymous. Weekly meeting attendance averages 800 to 1,000, Paul said.

“It is such a blessing to have the Recovery Resource Center in our community,” said Kim Nechay, executive director of the Perdue Foundation. “We are honored to be able to support their mission to facilitate and support people on their journey to recovery.”
