Perdue Farms’ Thorntown Associates Present $2,911 to United Way of Central Indiana

SALISBURY, MD. (Monday, February 4, 2019) — Associates from Perdue Farms’ breeder operation in Thorntown, Ind., recently presented a check for $2,911 in support of the United Way of Central Indiana in Boone County. The contribution included a $264 grant provided by the Franklin P. and Arthur W. Perdue Foundation, the charitable giving arm of Perdue Farms. Perdue employs 78 associates in Thorntown.
“The relationship between Perdue Farms Thorntown and United Way of Central Indians is vital to addressing the needs of our local community,” said Aaron Gore, area director of United Way of Central Indiana Area Northwest. “We are grateful for their continued support.”
The Perdue campaign allowed associates to use a simple payroll deduction process to individually support such United Way partner agencies as the Boys and Girls Club of Boone County, The Arc of Greater Boone County, Boone County Senior Services, Boone County Senior Services, Boone County Cancer Society, and Witham YMCA. Associates’ pledges will help fund programs dedicated to providing opportunities for individuals to learn more, earn more and lead healthy and safe lives.
“We’re thrilled to continue to support the United Way of Central Indiana through our associate pledge campaign and support from the Foundation,” said Mike Maroney, Thorntown operation manager. “We believe in supporting the communities where our associates live and work, and remain committed to assist through our partnership with United Way.”
