Perdue Farms Delivering Protein to Food Banks and Investing in Nonprofit Programs During Hunger Action Month

September 16, 2026

Salisbury, Md. (September 16, 2026) — With Hunger Action Month underway during a critical time for food banks and nonprofit organizations across the U.S., Perdue Farms is delivering seven truckloads of protein—the equivalent of 181,000 meals—to food banks serving our neighbors and investing in hunger relief initiatives in our communities.

Perdue’s protein donations are helping to meet immediate needs for the following food banks:

  • Maryland Food Bank (Baltimore, Md.)
  • Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina (Charlotte, N.C.)
  • Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore (Norfolk, Va.)
  • Food Bank of Delaware (Milford, Del.)
  • Food Bank of the Albemarle (Elizabeth City, N.C.)
  • Harvest Hope Food Bank (Florence, S.C.)
  • Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland (Elizabethtown, Ky.)

Beyond an immediate protein donation, Perdue will advance our efforts to fill the food gap with several other key initiatives designed to generate meals, raise awareness, and support local food bank partners throughout the fall.

  • Rushing to Fight HungerPerdue’s new partnership with the Baltimore Ravens and Maryland Food Bank to address food insecurity across the state, kicks off during the Ravens’ season opening game on September 13. Through this program, for every 100 rushing yards accumulated by the Ravens, Perdue will donate 1,300 meals to Maryland families facing hunger.
  • Strike Out Hunger Challenge on Delmarva, Perdue’s annual partnership with the Delmarva Shorebirds and three regional food bank partners, just wrapped up its 15th season, generating a record 1.5 million meal equivalents for food insecure neighbors in Maryland, Virginia and Delaware. To date, the challenge has helped generate more than 5.3 million meal equivalents.

For more than a century, strengthening communities has been central to our company values. Perdue’s support for hunger relief programs is not encompassed by a single moment in time. Instead, our Delivering Hope To Our Neighbors® outreach is defined by year-round efforts and shaped by a 106-year-old legacy of stewardship.

“As a food company, we have a unique responsibility and opportunity to help address food insecurity in the communities we call home,” said Kevin McAdams, Chief Executive Officer of Perdue Farms. “This Hunger Action Month, we’re proud to make a major protein donation to seven of our partners, invest in community organizations tackling hunger at the local level, and engage our associates in supporting neighbors in need. These efforts reflect our belief that Raising A Better Future means strengthening communities, supporting our neighbors and creating opportunities for people to thrive.”

Perdue’s charitable giving partner, the Franklin P. and Arthur W. Perdue Foundation, is also making a nearly $80,000 investment in nonprofit programs that address food insecurity across the Delmarva Peninsula and the Carolinas this month. The grants include:

  • $28,000 to Salvation Army in Salisbury, Maryland to fund kitchen equipment and food purchases
  • $25,500 to Full Plate Project in Chesapeake, Virginia to invest in a new refrigerator and freezer for storing perishables
  • $20,000 to Food Bank of the Albemarle in Elizabeth City, North Carolina to support rural feeding programs in Bertie County, North Carolina
  • $6,000 to Zion Community Outreach to support meal programs in Rockingham County, North Carolina

While Hunger Action Month brings greater awareness to the issue of food insecurity in September, Perdue’s commitment to making a meaningful difference in our communities extends throughout the year. Through continuous protein donations, philanthropic investments, community partnerships and associate engagement, we remain focused on putting our values into action, supporting our neighbors and creating lasting impact for generations to come.
