Perdue Farms Grants $50,000 to Non-Profit ‘Sleep in Heavenly Peace’ to Help Provide

Beds for Children in Kentucky-Ohio County

SALISBURY, MD (Monday, March 9, 2026) — Perdue Farms, through the Franklin P. and Arthur W. Perdue Foundation, has awarded a $50,000 grant to the Kentucky-Ohio County chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace to support its mission of ensuring “No Kid Sleeps on the Floor In Our Town!®”.

The funding will help the chapter purchase enclosed trailers for storage and deliveries and enhance its volunteer build site with heating and cooling systems, allowing volunteers to build and deliver beds to more children in need throughout the community.

According to Sleep In Heavenly Peace, nearly three percent of children in the United States lack a bed of their own, often sleeping on floors, couches, or crowded spaces. The Kentucky-Ohio County chapter of Sleep In Heavenly Peace is working to address that need locally, having delivered 105 beds to children who otherwise would not have had a safe place to sleep.

“We see firsthand how much something as simple as a bed can change a child’s life,” said Angel Sharp-Howard, Chapter President of Sleep in Heavenly Peace Kentucky-Ohio County. “When a child receives a bed of their own, it brings comfort, dignity, and stability to their home. This generous support from Perdue Farms will help us reach more families and ensure more children in our community have a safe place to sleep.”

In addition to the grant, 15 associates from Perdue’s Cromwell, KY facility volunteered during a recent “build day” event, assembling beds that will soon be delivered to local families.

“Perdue Farms is proud to support organizations that are making a meaningful difference in the communities where our associates live and work,” said Allen Pavlovich, Director of Operations of Perdue Farms in Cromwell, KY.

“The work being done by Sleep in Heavenly Peace is truly inspiring. We’re honored to help expand their efforts so more children in Kentucky-Ohio County can experience comfort, and a safe place to rest.”

The grant is part of Perdue Farms’ Delivering Hope To Our Neighbors® outreach, which focuses on improving quality of life and building strong communities through partnerships with nonprofit organizations. Through financial support, volunteerism, and collaboration, Perdue and its associates work to strengthen the communities they call home.
