PERDUE FARMS NAMES DREW GETTY EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT AND GENERAL COUNSEL
Longtime Perdue leader succeeds Herb Frerichs following a thoughtfully planned leadership transition
SALISBURY, Md. (August 17, 2026) — Perdue Farms today announced that Drew Getty has been named Executive Vice President and General Counsel, effective immediately. Getty will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Kevin McAdams and serve as a member of the company’s Management Committee.
Getty succeeds Herb Frerichs, Perdue’s first General Counsel, who will retire following a transition period. The leadership change follows a thoughtful succession-planning process that has been underway for the past two years.
“Drew is a trusted leader whose experience, judgment and deep understanding of Perdue position him exceptionally well to lead our legal function,” said McAdams. “Throughout his career here, he has demonstrated an ability to navigate complex issues while remaining grounded in our values and focused on the needs of the business. His appointment reflects both the strength of the leadership talent within Perdue and the importance we place on planning thoughtfully for the future.”
Getty joined Perdue in 2012 and has held positions of increasing responsibility across legal, compliance, sustainability, government relations and enterprise leadership. His broad experience has given him a deep understanding of Perdue’s operations, culture, priorities and stakeholders, as well as a proven ability to provide practical, business-focused counsel. During that time, he played a key leadership role in Perdue’s enterprise response to the COVID-19 pandemic, helping coordinate cross-functional decision-making and business continuity efforts during one of the most challenging periods in the company’s history.
As General Counsel, Getty will lead Perdue’s legal function and serve as a strategic advisor to McAdams, the Management Committee and leaders across the company. He will help guide the company’s legal and business risk management, governance and compliance practices in support of Perdue’s long-term priorities. Environmental and Sustainability will continue under his direction.
“I am honored to take on this role and grateful for the trust placed in me,” said Getty. “Perdue has an incredibly talented team and a strong culture rooted in integrity and responsible stewardship. I look forward to building on the foundation Herb established and continuing to help our leaders and associates navigate opportunities and challenges with sound judgment and a clear focus on the future.”
Before joining Perdue, Getty worked at Miles & Stockbridge and the Appellate Court of Maryland. He earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Dickinson College and a Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law.
Frerichs joined Perdue more than 26 years ago and became the company’s first General Counsel, establishing and shaping the legal function that supports the business today. During his tenure, he served as a trusted advisor to the Perdue family, Board of Directors and executive leadership, helping guide the company through periods of significant growth, change and increasing legal and regulatory complexity.
Frerichs will remain engaged during a transition period as Senior Vice President, Strategic Advisor to the CEO & General Counsel, and Perdue will recognize his contributions more fully as he approaches his retirement.
