Santa Rosa, Ca. (October 29, 2025) — A Sonoma County jury has found Zoe Rosenberg, a member of the radical activist group Direct Action Everywhere (DxE), guilty on all counts following a trial in Sonoma County Superior Court. Rosenberg faced one felony count of conspiracy and three misdemeanors stemming from her unlawful entry into a Petaluma Poultry facility in 2023 and theft of livestock.

Throughout the trial, Rosenberg and her DxE associates testified under oath to breaking multiple laws as part of a coordinated campaign against Petaluma Poultry.

Herb Frerichs, General Counsel, Petaluma Poultry: “The jury’s verdict makes it clear: personal beliefs don’t justify breaking the law. DxE members admitted to planning and carrying out illegal acts — including break-ins, theft of private data, and stealing livestock — under the guise of activism and to gain publicity. This kind of behavior has no place in any community that respects the rule of law. We fully support the right to free speech and lawful protest, but that’s not what this was.”

Dayna Ghirardelli, Executive Director of the Sonoma County Farm Bureau: “For years, DxE has harassed farm families and workers, trespassed on private property, and stolen from local businesses. Our community has consistently rejected their extreme tactics, and this verdict reinforces that. Farming and poultry production are cornerstones of life in Sonoma County—and they deserve our continued respect, support, and protection.”

Zoe Rosenberg and her accomplice Raven Deerbrook admitted under oath that they:

• Broke into Petaluma Poultry multiple times
• Disguised themselves as Petaluma Poultry employees
• Created and used fake ID badges with Rosenberg’s photo and a fake name
• Accessed and went through confidential corporate records and data
• Stole livestock from Petaluma Poultry, Reichardt Duck Farms, and from a Hunter Lane facility
• Attached GPS trackers to twelve trailers
• Cut the fence at the Petaluma Poultry facility
• Placed hidden cameras inside Petaluma Poultry and took photos of the facility

DxE’s stated mission is to end meat consumption by abolishing all forms of animal agriculture. They regularly deploy illegal tactics that jeopardize community safety in service, undermining the economy and national food supply.
