Petaluma Poultry Invests $30,000 to Help Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin Expand Programs in Petaluma
PETALUMA, Calif. — October 29, 2026 — A $30,000 investment from Petaluma Poultry will help Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin expand its reach in Petaluma, bringing safe, supportive places to learn, connect and prepare for successful futures to nearly 1,800 additional local youth. Petaluma Poultry, producer of local chicken brands Rocky® and Rosie®, has been a fixture in the Petaluma community since 1969.
The investment supports Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin’s expansion in Petaluma, where the organization is currently working to open four new Club sites and bring its Great Futures Pathway programming to more local students. The expansion will provide youth with approximately 990 hours of programming and more opportunities to strengthen reading skills, build emotional well-being and belonging, and explore pathways to college and meaningful careers.
“This gift will help bring the life-changing Club experience to more Petaluma children and families through our partnership with Petaluma City Schools,” said Jennifer Weiss, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin. “This means more young people will have caring adults in their corner, a safe place to belong and opportunities to discover everything they are capable of becoming.”
The funding is provided by the Franklin P. and Arthur W. Perdue Foundation, the charitable giving arm of Perdue Farms, the parent company of Petaluma Poultry. The investment is part of Perdue Farms’ Delivering Hope To Our Neighbors® outreach focused on improving quality of life and building strong communities.
Through the Great Futures Pathway, Boys & Girls Clubs of Sonoma-Marin provides coordinated programming focused on three essential areas of youth development:
- Start Smart helps young people build strong literacy skills and achieve measurable reading growth.
- Grow Strong supports emotional well-being, healthy relationships and a meaningful sense of connection with peers and caring adults.
- Future Ready gives teens opportunities to explore careers, develop workforce skills, and create plans for college, training or employment after high school.
The organization will measure the expansion’s success through student participation, program delivery, literacy assessments, youth and family surveys, and college and career-readiness milestones. These measures will help Club staff understand young people’s progress and continually strengthen the programs available to local families.
“Boys & Girls Clubs play an essential role in helping local youth build confidence, develop important life skills, and reach their full potential,” said Nathan Bryner, complex human resources manager for Petaluma Poultry. “We are proud that this funding will help expand opportunities for children and families right here in Petaluma through new school-based Club sites and the Great Futures Pathway program. Most importantly, more young people will have the support and encouragement they need to succeed close to home and grow into the next generation of community leaders.”
For Petaluma families, the new sites will mean greater access to trusted programs during the critical hours when children are out of school, but parents and caregivers may still be at work. At each location, trained Club professionals will provide academic enrichment, encouragement and positive experiences designed to help young people thrive.
“This is what true community partnership looks like,” Weiss added. “When organizations like Petaluma Poultry invest in young people, they help create stronger families, stronger neighborhoods and a stronger future for the entire community. We are deeply grateful for their belief in Petaluma’s kids.”
