January 28, 2021

Salisbury, Md. (Thursday, January 28, 2021) — Associates from Perdue Farms breeder operations in Thorntown, Ind., recently delivered $3,609 to United Way of Central Indiana. The contribution included $3,281 in associate contributions and a $328 grant provided by the Franklin P. and Arthur W. Perdue Foundation, the charitable giving arm of Perdue Farms. Perdue employs 80 associates in Thorntown.

“United Way is so grateful for the generous support of Perdue Farms leaders, associates and Foundation, especially during these tough and uncertain economic times,” said Penny Lee, chief fund-raising officer at United Way of Central Indiana. “We are honored that Perdue Farms has remained a strong partner as we’ve worked to improve the lives of individuals and families in our community.”

The Perdue campaign allows associates to use a simple payroll deduction process to individually support United Way and its partner agencies. Since 2016, Perdue associates have delivered more than $12,000 to support United Way of Central Indiana.

“At Perdue, we’re committed to giving back to our communities where we live and work, and our associates give freely through our annual pledge campaign,” said Mike Maroney, Perdue breeder operation manager. “United Way plays an instrumental role in helping to improve the quality of life for so many people, and we remain committed to supporting our Boone County neighbors through this partnership.”
