March 13, 2017

Associates from Perdue Farms’ operation in Rockingham, N.C., recently presented a check for $73,880.10 in support of the United Way of Richmond County. The contribution included a $6,709.10 grant provided by the Franklin P. and Arthur W. Perdue Foundation, the charitable giving arm of Perdue Farms. Perdue employs 1,045 associates in Rockingham.

The Perdue campaign allowed associates to use a simple payroll deduction process to individually support United Way.

“I could not be more proud of the generosity and compassion of our associates to assist their neighbors,” said Kendall Casey, director of Perdue operations in Rockingham. “They consistently live up to our company commitment to support the community, and thanks to their continued support of United Way, countless lives in Richmond County will be impacted in a positive way.”

United Way of Richmond County is a non-profit organization whose mission is to maximize the communities’ resources to improve the lives of all the members of the community. Through the combination of generous individual and business contributions, the United Way of Richmond County is able to support such agency partners as Sandhills Children Center, Rockingham County 4-H, Boys Scouts, Girls Scouts, Back Pack Pals, Habitat for Humanity, American Red Cross, Salvation Army and others.

“Perdue is our second largest workplace campaign in Richmond County,” said Michelle Parrish, executive director of the United Way. “We are very thankful and appreciative for the generosity of the Perdue associates for participating with our annual campaign and giving to those in need. The investment that the Perdue associates make to our local United Way campaign ensures our 16 partnering agencies continue to serve our community.”
