Salisbury, Md. (Dec. 4, 2020) – Today, Perdue Farms issued the following statement congratulating Reps. David Scott (D-GA) and Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (R-PA) on being selected as chairman and ranking member, respectively, of the U.S. House of Representatives’ Agriculture Committee:

“Perdue Farms extends our heartfelt congratulations to Rep. David Scott on his election to serve as chairman of the House Agriculture Committee and to Rep. Glenn Thompson on his new role as the committee’s ranking member,” said Randy Day, CEO of Perdue Farms. “Both of these leaders represent states where Perdue Farms operates grain and poultry processing facilities, and in their new positions they will have an important role to play in helping all of America’s agriculture industry and rural communities tackle critical environmental issues and support our nation’s recovery from the coronavirus pandemic. Rep. Scott’s election as the first Black lawmaker and first lawmaker from Georgia to lead the House Agriculture Committee is also a historic moment that deserves significant recognition. Perdue Farms hopes to work closely with both of these leaders and their full committee in the coming months on the many challenges facing America’s food and agriculture sector.”
