We promise that all the chicken you buy from us will always, always be from chicken raised on US farms and harvested, processed and packaged in the US. And we’ll put that information on the label.

If you agree with us that you should know where your chicken came from, now is the time to let the government know

We think selling chicken from China to US consumers and not letting them know is a bad idea.

The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service is proposing: “to amend the poultry products inspection regulations to list the PRC (People’s Republic of China) as eligible to export to the United States poultry products from birds slaughtered in the PRC.”

Of course, we understand the importance of international trade; exports are part of our business. We also recognize the importance of the Chinese market. We do business there. We know lots of things come from China.

But here’s the difference. Your Chinese-made electronics, clothes and other merchandise are labeled. But, a US company can import chicken from China, use it in a product – such as nuggets or frozen, breaded chicken – and not have to put anything on the package that tells you the chicken in that package comes from China.

We promise that all the chicken you buy from us will always, always be from chicken raised on US farms and harvested, processed and packaged in the US. And we’ll put that information on the label, including our USDA Process Verified Program for “Raised Cage Free in the US.” In fact, through our USDA Process Verified Programs – and USDA certification for our organic products – we have documented processes assuring you that, from the hatchery to the package, none of our chicken ever leaves the US.

But what about other chicken? If you agree with us that letting US companies put Chinese chicken in US products is a bad idea, here’s your chance to let the government know. But you only have until August 15 to let your voice be heard! https://www.regulations.gov/comment?D=FSIS-2017-0002-0002

Here’s our official company position on imported chicken.
